Liutard 1 was bishop of Pavia; he was consecrated by the bishop of Rome (possibly Nicolas I (Nikolaos 28)); when the archbishop of Ravenna, Ioannes 315, visited Pavia to seek help against Nikolaos 28, Liutard 1 and the citizens of Pavia, knowing that he had been excommunicated by the pope, shunned him and his followers lest they incur the same penalty: Lib. Pont. 107. 26.
