Leo 255 was a monk; he bore a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) to the Stoudite monks in Constantinople, written between 821 and 826; he is mentioned in the letter (τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Λέοντος: p. 636, line 2): Theod. Stud., Ep. 450, pp. 636-637 (821/826). He was possibly himself a Stoudite monk.
