Leo 252 was a dealer in spices (ἀρωματοπράτης: p. 214, line 1), he received a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) written between 815 and 818; he had a sister, to whom Theodoros 15 sent his greetings; he supported the veneration of icons and is addressed by Theodoros 15 as ὦ φιλότης (p. 214, line 4): Theod. Stud., Ep. 94, pp. 214-215 (addressed Λέοντι ἀρωματοπράτῃ).
