Leo 106 was protonotarios of Peloponnesos; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century; Laurent, "Sceaux" IV, pp. 338-340, no. 3 = Bon, Le Péloponnèse byzantin, p. 190, no. 19. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Λεων - [τι] (πρωτο)νοτα - [ρίῳ Πελ]ωπ - ονησου. Laurent dates the seal to the ninth century, Bon to the first half of the ninth century, during the iconoclast period because of the cruciform monogram and after the creation of the theme. Cruciform invocative monograms were not, however, restricted to the iconoclast period.
