Leo 73 was a basilikos kandidatos and protonotarios of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable to the early or mid ninth century: DOSeals I 18.56 = Zacos and Veglery 2097. Nesbitt and Oikonomides assign this seal to the first half of the ninth century because the beta on the reverse is in the form of a capital Latin "R".
