Kyprianos 6 was a disciple (μαθητὴς) of the patriarch Ignatios 1; Kyprianos 6 accompanied Ignatios 1 when Ignatios 1 fled in disguise to Sybaitikon, at Whitsun in either 862 or 863: Nicetas, Vita Ignatii 524A-B. Allegations subsequently brought against him by Eustratios 12 (perhaps in 863) of handing over supposed letters written by Ignatios 1 were shown to be false: Nicetas, Vita Ignatii 529C.
