Krambonites 1's family name was Krambonites; Krambonites 1 was a giant of a man and very strong; in 820 he was one of those who conspired with Michael 10 against Leo V (Leo 15) and he struck one of the fatal blows that killed Leo 15, on the day of the Nativity: Theoph. Cont. I 25 (p. 39) (τῆς ἐκ τῶν Κραμβωνιτῶν οὗτος ὡρμᾶτο γενεᾶς).
