Kosmas 8 was bishop of Prainetos in Bithynia; in 692 he attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 156, no. 102 (= Mansi XI 996) (Κοσμᾶς ἀνάξιος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Πραινετίων πόλεως τῆς Βιθυνῶν ἐπαρχίας).
