Konstantinos 18 was bishop of Barata in Lykaonia; in 681 he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was present at the last eight sessions (sessions eleven to eighteen, from 20 March to 16 September); at sessions sixteen and eighteen he represented bishop Paulos 6 of Ikonion and he also signed the statement of the faith and the acts of the Council on his behalf: Riedinger, pp. 406-824 (= Mansi XI 460-672). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Κωνσταντῖνος ἐλάχιστος (Riedinger, p. 824, line 11 (= Mansi XI 672) has: ἐλέει Θεοῦ) ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Βαρατέων μητροπόλεως (Riedinger, p. 824, line 11 (= Mansi XI 672) reads: πόλεως) τῆς Λυκαόνων ἐπαρχίας καὶ τὸν τόπον ἀναπληρῶν Παύλου τοῦ ἐπισκόπου Ἰκονίου (Riedinger, p. 824, lines 12-13 (= Mansi XI 672) reads: ἐπέχων Παύλου τοῦ ἁγιωτάτου μου ἐπισκόπου τουτέστι μητροπολίτου Ἰκονίου): Riedinger, p. 782, lines 23-24, p. 824, lines 11-14, cf. p. 893, lines 1-3 (= Mansi XI 644, 672, cf. 692).
The old Latin version printed in Riedinger, p. 783, line 23, calls him "
Konstantinos 18 was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1, still representing Paulos 6: Riedinger, p. 893, lines 1-3 (= Mansi XI 692). His name occurs in the list printed in Riedinger, p. 734, lines 5-7 (= Mansi XI 696).
Still bishop in 692, Konstantinos 18 attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople and signed the canons: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 166, no. 190 (= Mansi XI 1004) (Κωνσταντῖνος ἐλάχιστος ἐπίσκοπος πόλεως Βαράτων τῆς Λυκαόνων ἐπαρχίας).
