Konstantinos 3 was deacon of Hagia Sophia and skeuophylax and oikonomos: Nic., Chron., p. 118, 65. He succeeded Ioannes 2 as patriarch of Constantinople in 675; he remained patriarch for one year eleven months, seven days (so Nic., Chron.; Theophanes gives two years): Nic., Chron., p. 118, 65, Theoph. AM 6166 and Theoph. AM 6167 (Κωνσταντινουπόλεως ἐπίσκοπος Κωνσταντῖνος ἔτη β'), Zon. XIV 21. 2. His successor was Theodoros 4: Theoph. AM 6168. At the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) a copy of his synodika, addressed to the patriarch of Antioch, Makarios 1, was read out and found to be free from monothelete ideas: Riedinger, pp. 612-618 (= Mansi XI 573-577).
