Ioannes 509 was basilikos spatharokandidatos and chartoularios of the dromos of the Anatolikoi; owner of seals dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals III 86.10a and b = Laurent, Corpus II, no. 461. Obv.: bust of the Virgin, with medallion, and cruciform monograms of Θεοτόκε and βοήθει. Rev.: .Ιωαννη - β' σπαθ' καν - διδ' και χαρ' του - δρομου τον α - νατολικ'.
