A klerikos, Ioannes 452 was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), probably written between 821 and 826; he had written to Theodoros 15 and sent him a gift, with an enquiry what the penalty would be if he were to associate with heretics; Theodoros 15 replied that his best course was not to commit the sin in the first place; he is styled τῆς ἀγάπης σου (p. 839, line 2) and addressed as φίλε γνησιώτατε (p. 839, line 2) and ἠγαπημένε (p. 839, line 14): Theod. Stud., Ep. 550, p. 839 (addressed Ἰωάννῃ κληρικῷ).
