Ioannes 446 was a patrikios, to whom the patriarch Photius (Photios 1) wrote a letter, probably between 859 and September 867, asking help for a friend; Ioannes 446 had earlier once received help from Photios 1 in similar circumstances; he is styled τὴν σὴν εὐκληρίαν: Photius, Ep. 185 (II 74 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Ἰωάννῃ πατρικίῳ). Cf. Anonymus 601. Possibly to be identified with Ioannes 242, Ioannes 444 or Ioannes 447.
