Ioannes 441 was bishop of Prousa when Petros 126 composed the Life of St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2) (in the mid-ninth century); before he became bishop, Ioannes 441 had visited Ioannikios 2 in the company of Petros 126 himself and Petros 127 (the date was shortly before the Triumph of Orthodoxy, in 843; see Petros 127): Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 68 (τῷ νυνὶ ἐπισκόπῳ Προύσης Ἰωάννῃ). He was presumably a monk at the time, like his companions.
