Ioannes 287 was an archbishop; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century; his see is not recorded: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 241. The text reads: [Ἰω]ά[ν]ῃ [ἀ]ρχη[ε]πισκ[ό]πῳ. Since the seals are in an Athens museum, he may possibly have been archbishop of Athens. Cf. Ioannes 184, Ioannes 193 and Ioannes 491.
