Ioannes 219 was a member of the synkletos holding the post of eidikos (ἕτερος δέ τις καὶ αὐτὸς τῶν συγκλητικῶν καὶ τὴν τοῦ ἰδικοῦ λεγομένην διέπων ἀξίαν, τοὔνομα Ἰωάννης); he suffered from a mortal disease about which the doctors could do nothing; he appealed for help to Evarestos 1 (St Evarestos), who told him that he would have another year to live to settle all his affairs; after a year he died, having given part of his wealth to Evarestos for the poor: Vita S. Evaristi 31 (p. 316). Cf. Ioannes 599.
