Ignatios 21 was hegoumenos of an unknown monastery; he was the addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15), written after 798/799, concerning an unnamed monk (Anonymus 622) who had fled to Ignatios 21's monastery; Theodoros 15 demanded his return or at least his expulsion; Ignatios 21 is styled τῇ πατρικῇ σου ἁγιωσύνῃ, τῆς ὁσιότητός σου and ἡ θεοφίλεια σου: Theod. Stud., Ep. 14 (addressed Ἰγνατίῳ ἡγουμένῳ).
