Hypatios 5 was basilikos strator and tourmarches of Marmaritzion; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 71. The name and title read: Ὑπατίῳ βασιλικῷ στράτορι καὶ τουρμάρχῃ τοῦ Μαρμαριτζίου. For a similar seal, perhaps owned by the same person (possibly the identical seal), see Schlumberger, Sig., p. 171.
