In AH 50 (Jan. 670/Jan. 671) = 981 Sel. (669/670) Husayn 1 (Husain ibn Numair) is said to have defeated the full might of the Roman army with only three thousand Arabs: Elias, Chron., p. 144, 6-11 = p. 69.
