Halitgar 1 was bishop of Cambrai; in 828 Halitgar 1 and the abbot Ansfrid 1 were sent by Louis the Pious (Lodoïchos 2) as envoys to the emperor Michael II (Michael 10); on their return they reported that they had been received with great honour: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 828.
