Gregorios 146 was a monk in the monastery "Ton Kerameon" (τῶν Κεραμέων), in the bishopric of Nikaia. Gregorios 146 is mentioned in a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) written to the hegoumenos Ioseph 20 on the occasion of the death of the bishop of Nikaia, Petros 49, in 826; Gregorios 146 was already elderly and in need of the help of his fellow monks, but is described by Theodoros 15 as an exemplary monk (τὸν κύριον Γρηγόριον τὸν πνευματικὸν ἡμῶν ἀδελφόν, ὡς ἤδη λιπαρῶς γεγηρακότα: p. 823, lines 48-49): Theod. Stud., Ep. 544, pp. 821-823.
