Gregorios 143 was a hegoumenos of the monastery of Ta Adelphiou (Γρηγόριος ὁ τῶν Ἀδελφίων: p. 534, line 5); in a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) to Thalelaios 2 he is described as an iconoclast whom Thalelaios 2 should avoid; Gregorios 143 had subscribed a document in support of iconoclasm and taken communion with iconoclasts, but claimed to have since repented; Theodoros 15 was unconvinced and wanted him to anathematise the iconoclasts and issue a written declaration: Theod. Stud., Ep. 386, pp. 534-536 (written between 816 and 818).
