Georgios 229 was notarios of the chartoularios Thomas (Thomas 59) (who probably lived in Dyrrhachion); he delivered a letter from Thomas 59 to Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) in c. 823 (διὰ δηλώματος Γεωργίου τοῦ καλοῦ ἀνδρὸς καὶ οἰκείου νοταρίου): Theod. Stud., Ep. 467. Possibly identical with Georgios 222.
