Gabriel 8 was basilikos hypatos and basilikos spatharios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Laurent, Orghidan 145. Obv.: monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει and the name Γαβριήλ, with τω - .. - δου - .. in the corners. Rev.: ... - κω υ... - και βα... - σπα.. The text perhaps reads: Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Γαβριὴλ βασιλικῷ ὑπάτῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ.
