Euphemia 3 was betrothed to Sergios 54 when the latter was elected archbishop of Ravenna; on taking office he consecrated her deaconess: Agnellus, Lib. Pont. Eccl. Rav. 154 ("Sergius ... iste laicus fuit et sponsam habuit. Quam post[quam] regimen ecclesiae suscepit eam Eufimiam sponsam suam diaconissam consecravit et in eodem habitu permansit").
