A Stoudite monk, Euodios 2 was the addressee of four letters from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in 817 or 818, three of them jointly with Ioannes 463: Theod. Stud., Epp. 238, pp. 371-372 (c. 817); 310, p. 453 (c. 817/818); 367, p. 499 (c. 817/818) (all addressed Εὐοδίῳ καὶ Ἰωάννῃ τέκνοις); Ep. 254, pp. 384-385 (c. 817) (addressed Εὐοδίῳ τέκνῳ). He is also mentioned in four other letters of Theodoros 15, written between c. 810 and 817, and in two of his sermons: Theod. Stud., Epp. 49, pp. 139-144 (c. 810/811); 190, pp. 314-315 (L 816/E 817); 207, p. 329 (L 816/E 817); 220, p. 342 (M/L 816); Theod. Stud., Catech. Magna 62, 63 (pp. 438, 441, ed. Papadopoulos-Kerameus). In 799 Euodios 2 was one of the monks in the monastery of Sakkoudion who transferred with Theodoros 15 to the Stoudite monastery in Constantinople: Theod. Stud., Catech. Magna 62, 63. Later, in 810/811, he received a letter from Theodoros, not extant, explaining the reasons for the Moechian schism: Theod. Stud., Ep. 49, p. 143, line 115. During the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15) he briefly lapsed, together with Hypatios 7, but in word only, as they did not actually communicate with the iconoclasts: Theod. Stud., Ep. 190 (they lapsed but did not communicate), 254 (praised by Theodoros for his quick return). He was one of the group of Stoudite monks who were associated with Thaddaios 1: Theod. Stud., Ep. 190, cf. Ep. 199 (see Bessarion 1). He is referred to as τὸν ἀββᾶν Εὐόδιον, Theod. Stud., Ep. 207, p. 329, line 5; and τὸν ἀδελφὸν Εὐόδιον, Theod. Stud., Ep. 220, p. 342, line 17.
