Eudoxios 2 was bishop of Amorion; in late 803 he was exiled by the new emperor Nicephorus I (Nikephoros 8) to the island of Patallarea (Pantelleria, between Sicily and Africa) with his fellow bishops Theophylaktos 37 of Nikomedeia and Euthymios 1 of Sardis; all were accused of involvement in the revolt of the usurper Bardanes Tourkos (Bardanes 3); they were soon recalled: Vita Euthym. Sard. 5-6.
Bishop of Amorion; in 814 and 815 he was one of the bishops summoned to Constantinople by the patriarch Nikephoros 2 to plead with the emperor Leo V (Leo 15) not to adopt iconoclast policies; after the exile of Nikephoros 2 they all rebuked the emperor to his face and were all sent into exile, each to a different place: Vita S. Theophylacti 12-14, cf. Synax. Eccl. Const., 519ff. See also Eudoxos 1.
