Ebbo 1 was archbishop of Reims; he was deposed for misconduct (at the Council of Thionville in 835) together with the archbishop of Narbo, Bartholomeus (Bartholomaios 2); in 844 they were both present in Rome to ask bishop Sergius II (Sergios 60) for reinstatement; the pope refused but gave them permission to take communion together with the laity: Lib.
