A Stoudite monk, Dorotheos 10 was the addressee of two letters from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) during the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15): Theod. Stud., Ep. 240 (M/L 816; addressed Δωροθέῳ τέκνῳ ἑτέρῳ), Ep. 352 (L 817/ M 818; addressed Δωροθέῳ τέκνῳ). He suffered beatings, imprisonment and exile during the persecution, and his status was, according to Theodoros 15, exalted by his sufferings: Theod. Stud., Ep. 240. He was urged to stand firm and pray: Theod. Stud., Ep. 352. He is addressed as τέκνον μου ἠγαπημένον or similar: Theod. Stud., Epp. 240, 352. In a letter of Theodoros 15 written in 816 he is described as one of the nine companions of Euthymios 15 who were all victims of the persecution: Theod. Stud., Ep. 181 (addressed to Euthymios καὶ τοῖς λοιποῖς ἀδελφοῖς).
