Demetrios 38 was a conspirator against the duces Ioannes 515 and Maurikios 15. After the murder of the patriarch of Grado Ioannes 516 by Ioannes 515 and Maurikios 15, a conspiracy was formed against the duces by the new patriarch Fortunatus (Phortounatos 2) with Obelerios 1, Felix 17, Dimitrius (sic), Marinianos 2 and other senior Venetici: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 101.
