Demetrios 14 shoemaker (σκυτοτομος δέ τις πεδίλων ῥαφεύς); Demetrios 14 and his wife had lost four children shortly after birth, all dying before they could be baptised; he asked Evarestos 1 (St Evarestos) for help; Evarestos blessed his wife and foretold the birth of a son who would survive; both prophecies came true: Vita S. Evaristi 34 (p. 317). Evarestos was in Constantinople, at Kokkorobion, at the time, and so Demetrios 14 was probably a shoemaker at Constantinople. The date is mid or late ninth century.
