David 14 was protomandator and ek prosopou of Thrace; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Konstantopoulos, Stamoules, no. 45. The reverse reads: Δα[βὶ]δ πρωτο[μ]ανδάτ[ορι καὶ] ἐκ προσ[ώπου] τῆς Θρ[ᾴκης ]. Cf. Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, p. 91.
