Damianos 6 was metropolitan bishop of Chalcedon; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the ninth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 399 = Schlumberger, Sig., 246. Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τω - σω - δου - λω. Rev.: [+]Δαμι - .νω μητρο - πολ(ίτῃ) Χαλ - κεδ(όνος). Laurent, op. cit., note, p. 290, follows Vailhé ("Les Métropolitains de Chalcédoine, Ve-Xe siècle", in EO 11 (1908), pp. 347-351) in dating this seal to the second period of iconoclasm and after the death of bishop Ioannes 439 in 824 (821/826), because of the absence of iconographic motifs.
