Christophoros 40 was a basilikos protospatharios and orphanotrophos; owner of two seals dateable to the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 1795a and 1795b. The name and titles read: Χριστοφόρῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ ὀρφανοτρόφῳ (the reading of the last word is not certain).
