Christophoros 11 was a hypatos and kommerkiarios of Adrianoupolis; owner of a seal (dated perhaps to the year 822/823, see below): DOSeals I 44.5 = Zacos and Veglery 283. Obv.: Busts of two emperors, and the date Ἰ[νδικτίων] α'. Rev.: Χριστοφόρ[ου] ὑπ[άτου] καὶ κομμερκ[ιαρίου] [Ἀ]δριανο[υ]πόλε[ ωσ]. Nesbitt and Oikonomides on stylistic and epigraphic grounds narrow the date to the early ninth century but after 820 and accept the date proposed by the first editors, 822/823, under Michael II (Michael 10) and Theophilos 5.
