Chour 1 was a silentiarios and vestitor; owner of a seal dateable to the sixth or seventh century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 602, no. 3 (facsimile). Obv. Schlumberger suggested that the letters of the name may have represented a name like Kyrillos, but he rightly preferred to interpret them as an ethnic name, Arabic or Persian. Cf. Choumir 1, Houmir 1 and Houmour 1.
