Boukoleon 1 was a Sakellarios; with the emperor's approval Boukoleon 1 had pope Martin (Martinos 6) paraded through the streets of Constantinople in chains to the office of the city prefect, preceded by an executioner: Theod. Spoud., Hypomnesticum (Gk), 4, p. 72, Hypomnesticum (Lat), IV, 197. The year was 652 (see Martinos 6).
