Basilios 153 was a Stoudite monk; basilios 153 was closely associated with Elpidios 4 who was his assistant (ὑπουργός) and who deserted the monastic community and left the monastery; Basilios 153 is mentioned in a sermon of Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) who refers to him as abbas (ἀββᾶς): Theod. Stud., Catech. Magna II 108 (p. 791 Papadopoulos-Kerameus).
