A monk, Basilios 131 was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) between 815 and 818; Basilios 131 had been arrested for supporting the veneration of icons, imprisoned and beaten and Theodoros 15 wrote him a letter of encouragement (στῆθι οὖν, ὦ γενναῖε); Basilios 131 is addressed as ἱερὲ Βασίλειε καὶ τοῦ Μεγάλου ἀπόγονε Βασιλείου: Theod. Stud., Ep. 322 (a. 815/818; addressed Βασιλείῳ μονάζοντι).
