Basilios 122 was a monk and priest; together with other monks and priests he visited Italy under the bishop of Rome, Nicolas I (Nikolaos 28), and on their return they complained about the attitude of the pope and demanded that he be punished; Basilios 122's colleagues included Zosimas 2 and Metrophanes 2; their complaints were reported by Photios 1 to the eastern patriarchs; they are alluded to as μοναχῶν καὶ πρεσβυτέρων: Photius, Ep. 2, lines 328ff.
