Bardanes 11 was a patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Thrace; owner of a seal dateable to the late eighth or early ninth centuries: Zacos and Veglery 1750A. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Βαρ - δανη πατ' - β' α' σπ' και στ - ρατ' Θρακ'. The name and titles read: Βαρδάνῃ πατρικίῳ, βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ Θρᾴκης. Another seal, published by Mushmov, "Sceaux de plomb", number 27 and re-read by Seibt, see Winkelmann, Rangstruktur, pp. 36, 91, was possibly owned by the same person. Seibt read the name and titles as: Βαρδανῃ πατ' β' ασπ' και στρ' Θρακ' (Mushmov read: Βαρδ' ανθυπατ' β' ασπ' και στρ' Θρακ').
