Baianos 3 was a patrikios and strategos; owner of a seal dateable between the mid seventh century and the mid eighth: Zacos and Veglery 594. Obv.: eagle, with raised wings, and cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: +Βαια - νω πατρ - κιω και σι - τρατη - γω+. The name and titles read: Βαïανῷ πατρ[ι]κίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ. The first iota of πατρικίῳ has apparently been wrongly inserted at the end of the following line. Possibly a Bulgar, or of Bulgar origin; see Baianos 1 and Baianos 4.
