Artabasdos 6 was a patrikios; owner of a seal dateable to the middle of the eighth century: Seibt, Bleisiegel I, no. 137. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with the legend τῷ δούλῳ σου. Rev.: + - Αρταυ - ασδῳ π - ατρικ - ιῳ+. The seal has palaeographic and stylistic similarities with coins of the emperor Artabasdos 1 (741-743) and perhaps belonged to one of his followers, viz. to the domestikos Artabasdos 2 (not to the emperor himself who was already kouropalates, ranking above patrikios, in 717); see Seibt, p. 269. His name indicates that he was Armenian.
