Arsaphios 4 was one of the people from Epidauros (Πίταυρα) who migrated to Ragusa shortly after its foundation in order to escape from the Slavs; the date is given as five hundred years before the current year AM 6457 and indiction 7: Const. Porph., DAI 29, 231ff. The date corresponds to the year 449 but should probably be corrected to 649, reading τ (three hundred) instead of φ (five hundred); see note in the Commentary on the DAI, p. 107.
