Apelates 6 was basilikos protospatharios; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 1728. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with .. - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Απελα - τι β' α' ς. - αθαρι.. The name and title read: Ἀπελάτι βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ. Zacos and Veglery date this seal a little earlier than that belonging to Apelates 2.
