Antoninos 1 was a deacon; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 232, no. 7 (facsimile). Obv.: +Αν - τωνι - νης (sic). Rev.: +δι - ακο - νου. The seal is in the Museum at Catanzaro. It is possible that the feminine form "Antonina" is correct and that the owner of the seal was a deaconess.
