Ansa 1 was the wife of the Lombard king Desiderius (Desiderios 3): Annales Sangallenses Maiores ad a. 774 (MGH, SS I, p. 75). Ansa 1 was captured with her husband Desiderios 3 at Pavia in 774 by the Frankish king Charles (Karoulos 1; Charlemagne) and spent the remainder of her life in exile in Francia in the monastery of Corbie: Lib. Pont. 97. 44, Annales Laurissenses ad a. 774, Annales Sangallenses Maiores, loc. cit. Presumably Ansa 1 was the mother of Adalgisos 1 and Adelperga 1.
