Anonymus 584 was the brother of Hypakoe 1 and her sisters (Anonymae 2) and the father of unnamed children (Anonymi 18); after Anonymus 584's death letters of consolation were sent to Hypakoe 1 by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite); Anonymus 584 had acted as a father to his sisters (ἐν τάξει πατρὸς: Theod. Stud., Ep. 540, p. 815, line 10), (possibly after the death of their father); Anonymus 584 is described as the eye of the family (ὁ ὀφθαλμὸς τοῦ γένους: Theod. Stud., Ep. 540, p. 815, line 15); Anonymus 584 died some distance away and when his body was brought to her, Hypakoe 1 displayed her emotion by opening the coffin and embracing his body: Theod. Stud., Ep. 540, pp. 815-816; Theod. Stud., Ep. 548, pp. 829-831 (both written some time between 821 and 826).
