Anonymus 563 was a megas kourator who served under the emperor Theophilos 5 during the iconoclast persecution; Theophilos 5 sent him and the protobestiarios Anonymus 562, with a question about the veneration of images of Christ to Ioannikios 2 (Saint Ioannikios); they then returned with his reply to the emperor: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 45 (δυὸ τινὰς τῶν οἰκείων αὐτοῦ καὶ μεγιστάνων κατὰ καιροὺς, φῆμι δὴ τὸν πρωτοβεστιάριον καὶ τὸν κουράτωρα τὸν μέγαν).
