Anonymus 559 was the brother of Ioseph 18; he accompanied his brother, with a number of bishops and hegoumenoi, to the church of St Elias on Mt Olympus in Bithynia, where they met the hermit Ioannikios 2: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 28, Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 36. For the date, possibly 821, see Ioannikios 2 and Theodoros 15. The narratives suggest that he was himself one of the hegoumenoi.
